Three one-act plays
Doggies by Jean McConnell
A Dog’s Life by Pam Valentine
The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish by David Tristram
Theatre in the Square presents a night of drama and comedy.
Doggies plays on the class tensions between two dog owners: one the owner of a Bichon Frise, and the other a mongrel. The camaraderie shared between dog owners soon descends to one-up-womanship of pedigree verses crossbreed!
In A Dog’s Life we witness the fate of four dogs awaiting re-homing. Each has led a different life so far: the pampered pedigreed pooch, the hard-nosed working dog, the abandoned and almost drowned naïve puppy and the much-loved bereaved mongrel. One gets the chance of a new home – but at what consequence?
With The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish we share the private thoughts of the apparently ordinary Henry and Alice. Fantasies blur into reality. Secret passions explode. Their two worlds which seem a million miles apart are suddenly on a collision course… It could only happen to Henry & Alice – and only their pet goldfish, Orca, and you, will ever know the true story.
Performances were on the
- 8th, 9th and 10th March 2012 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
- at the United Reformed Church, Tetherdown, Muswell Hill, N10 1ND
During the production our generous audiences made donations in support of St. Mungo’s, a charity for homeless people which also welcomes their dogs into its hostels. We raised over £200.
