Winner of the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best New Play in 1989. Two was originally written for just two actors. However, in the world of amateur drama, a play using only two actors isn’t fair when everyone in a drama group wants the chance to act, so the roles have been divided up in order that more people could take part. The play has fourteen characters in all, with four of the actors taking several parts and giving them the challenge and the reward of contrasting roles.
We hope that you will enjoy the quirkiness, the lyricism, the nastiness and the general humanity of the characters that are portrayed by Jim Cartwright in this less well-known but nonetheless delightful play.
