Join Theatre in the Square

Membership Image We’re always keen to welcome new members whatever their background or experience, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved: either backstage or as a performer.

Our current ‘home’ is at tEast Finchley Methodist Church but we use other nearby venues for social events and rehearsals as well as for performance.

We’re a very friendly and informal group and it’s easy to join.

New members are added to our members-only mailing list – we publish a regular newsletter, Tucket Lite – and we also encourage members to join our Facebook group and follow us on Google+, where we publicise our public performances.

Membership costs £35 a year for Full (Acting) Members or £30 a year for Full (Non-Acting) Members.

Full (Non-acting) Membership gives you access to our social events and in-house workshop/training events as soon as we have received your subscription, and of course you can get involved in productions on the technical/backstage side. No audition is required.

Only our Full (Acting) Members may act in our productions but there are several ways to become a Full (Acting) Member.

1. You can attend one of our General Auditions which we hold approximately every other month depending on demand. This is an informal chat with several members of our committee so that we can learn about each other, and you will also be asked to prepare in advance, and perform from memory, a monologue of your choice of no more than three minutes.

2. You can attend one of our ‘open’ auditions for a particular production. If you are successful in getting a part the Director will recommend you for Full Membership to the committee. Even if not successful in obtaining a part in that particular production, the Director may still recommend you for Full Membership if you would like to be considered for this.

3. If you have acted with us in the past but your membership has lapsed you can re-join as a Full Member without having to re-audition.

Whichever route you choose to Full (Acting) Membership we’ll generally let you know within a week if you’ve been successful and will then ask for your membership fee.

If you have already joined as an Full (Non-acting) Member and want to become a Full (Acting) Member, you will need to audition successfully and pay the difference between this and Full (Acting) Membership.

You will need to pay your membership fee prior to commencing any rehearsals.

Most of our productions have an ‘open’ audition policy but some are only open to Full Members (for example, our productions at the Minack Theatre).

To apply to join us as a Full (Acting) Member (£35 per annum) or as an Full (Non-acting) Member (£30 per annum), fill in the membership form.
